RNA Canada ARN 2024 will feature many of Canada’s and the world’s top RNA scientists for the purpose of promoting and augmenting RNA science in Canada.
RNA Canada ARN is thrilled to host Dr. Nahum Sonenberg, winner of a Canada Gairdner award in 2008 for his work on mRNA translational control;  Dr. Lynne Maquat, winner of a 2015 Canada Gairdner award for her work on nonsense mediated decay of mRNA; and Dr. Pieter Cullis, winner of a 2022 Canada Gairdner award for his work on lipid nanoparticles as were used in the mRNA COVID vaccines.
Dr. Cullis will be participating in a panel discussion entitled “Promises and Challenges of RNA-based Medicines“, taking place on Tuesday, October 1st from 8:15 to 10:00.
Dr. Sonenberg will be participating in a public session describing the history of RNA research in Canada.  It will take place on Wednesday, October 2nd in a session lasting from 14:45 to 17:10.
Dr. Maquat will giving the closing keynote address for the conference on Friday, October 4th at 10:40.  Her talk is entitled “NCBP3 prevents the premature decay of intron-containing pre-mRNAs to activate mitochondrial function”.
Make sure to attend these exciting talks!
