RNA Canada ARN Online Escape Games!
RNA Canada ARN is thrilled to share two RNA-themed escape games, created in collaboration with students at the University of Toronto at Scarborough, as part of their coursework with Dr. Aarthi Ashok.
Undergraduate students in Dr. Ashok’s fourth-year Pathobiology of Human Disease course were asked to create online “escape game” type puzzles under the theme of RNA, with the possibility that the top submissions would be shared with the RNA Canada ARN community.

Two games were selected as the best ones:
1. An RNA virus themed escape game, created by students Simran Mody, Anahita Mehdipour, Shania Coutinho, Elisha Alon, and Josephine Bennett. Â In this game, the player takes on the role of a norovirus attemting to escape the immune system! Â The game can accessed by clicking here!
2. An agricultural/siRNA themed escape game, created by students Angelica Santacroce, Connor O’Dell, Mofeedah Rahman and Rebecca Borisenko. Â In this game, the player takes on the role of a scientist helping farmers protect their crops using siRNA technology! Â The game can be accessed by clicking here!
Both games offer outstanding opportunities for students to learn about RNA and RNA-based applications in a fun setting. Â Our thanks go out to Dr. Ashok and her students for this fun educational activity!
