RNA Canada ARN Members Leading the Way in Setting the Standard for Studying snoRNA and Ribosomal RNA Modifications

RNA Canada ARN is proud to highlight the leadership of its members, Dr. Michelle Scott and Dr. Sherif Abou Elela, who are helping to organize RiboMod 2025, a groundbreaking workshop focused on setting the standard for studying snoRNA and ribosomal RNA modifications. This pivotal event will be held in Bologna, Italy, on June 12-13, 2025.

The workshop also features active participation from RNA Canada ARN members Dr. Ute Kothe and Dr. Athanasios Zovoilis, further demonstrating RNA Canada ARN’s commitment to advancing RNA research.

RiboMod 2025 is not a traditional conference—it is a focused workshop dedicated to tackling key challenges in the field, including inconsistent datasets, naming conventions, and the identification of modification sites. The goal is to establish unified research and publication standards that will shape the future of snoRNA and ribosomal RNA modification studies.

The workshop’s format includes debate-driven talks, small group discussions, and plenary sessions where participants will collaborate to develop actionable guidelines. These recommendations will be published as a community-endorsed standard and proposed as a benchmark for future publications in the field.

RNA Canada ARN encourages its members to take part in setting the international standard for the study of ribosomal RNA modification by participating in this transformative workshop. Your expertise and insights are essential to shaping the future of snoRNA and ribosomal RNA research.
